Laptop Hard Drive Knocking

[Sp33dFr33k]

I've seen plenty of drives with clicking issues but this one is actually knocking. Much deeper, solid sound than clicking. It attempts to spin up and starts knocking about 7 times, tries to spin and starts knocking again.

I imagine there's nothing that can be done in this case?

I've seen that a few times. You might want to try the freezer trick if you're desperate.
