What about SIMD (SSE/SSE2/3D-Now) support? QMD core uses double precision only. Therefore, only SSE2 will be useful. Currently, Intel Pentium 4 SSE2 is supported.
Hey...that what my laptop isICE_9 said:I can't get a link to it but on the intel site is says this chip has SSE2 instructions. The system has 1GB of memory in it. It's my mobile "game while the boss isn't looking" computer.![]()
ICE_9 said:The stanford link has the info on why they are going with just the Intel chips right now. It also brings into light that a Linux system will not get QMDs either unless running the client under Wine.
14. What about new chips such as the PentiumM or Pentium 4M? New CPU id's will be supported once the CPUID code is updated in the v6 client.
