laptop - desktop internet

hey guys,
i just moved into an apartment with my buddies and unfortunately, i dont have access to a cable in my room so i cannot connect my desktop to the internet without having to buy a wireless card. I do have a wireless router which i can connect to with my laptop. So before i go out and spend money on a wireless card for my desktop, i was wondering if there was any way possible for me to get internet on my desktop through my laptop.

You can do internet connection sharing using the wired port of the laptop to connect to the wired port of the deslktop. If you have never done any networking, the process may be confusing, but it works. I actually did it at one point to share internet from a Sprint wireless card to multiple desktops.
