I know nothing about mobile CPUs and GPUs and my brother wants advice on buying a laptop. He wants a powerful laptop for CAD, Photoshop, his CNC software and other high end productivity software. Max budget $1200

He found this on Craigslist, any thoughts?

MSI GS70 Stealth Pro-210 Gaming Laptop, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M 6GB, Intel Core i7 4710HQ (2.50GHz), Windows 10 Pro with November 2015 Update, 16GB Memory, 256 GB SSD Raid 0 & 1TB Hard Drive.

THIS GAMING LAPTOP IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION!
ITS ABOUT 8 MONTHS OLD.

$1075

That's a pretty good deal, normally gaming laptops with that spec (16GB, SSD) level start at $1500.

Of course you don't get a warranty, but since you can actually replace some of the parts in something that huge, it's not as important as an ultra-portable :D

Yes that was his other requirement, that parts be replaceable.

So, you think it is powerful enough for his needs?

That's a good deal, just check for dead pixels. I've noticed this a lot on gaming laptops for some reason.
