Ok, my laptop (500 Cely, 192 mb ram, windows 2k now, had xp) takes an incredibly long amount of time to boot up now. It just sorta happened one day, went from ~45 seconds to about 2-3 minutes :(. I tried reinstalling my o/s and then downgraded to 2k to see if that helps, but no luck. Please help me.

Thanks,
Luciferrex

Go to Start/Run type "msconfig" and go to the startup tab to see if you have extra junk in there. I personally like it completely cleared out.

Its probably one of three things.

A. Your drive is failing and instead of quiting is processing data very slowly. I've had a Maxtor do that.

B. Your CPU fan is dead and the cpu is overheating.

C. Your memory had error and the size has been decreased or is not refreshing properly.
