laptop boot from 3.5 hdd?

any way to use a 3.5hdd ide on a laptop with some kind of adapter. i know it is possible the other way round using a laptop drive with a desktop.... cant use external enclosures because laptop doesn't boot from usb.

You should be able to do it with this and this. Plug the 3.5" drive into a regular 40-pin cable, into the 2.5->3.5 adapter, into the 44-pin cable, into the laptop.

Just curious, but why do you want to do this?

cheers for the help unhappy_mage. i want to do this becuase i have a load of old 3.5 ide drives lying around and i want to fold on this thing.
