Hey, I'm helping someone pick out a laptop, she's not a big power user or anything, mostly internet, video streaming, etc. She only wants to use Windows 7, as that's what she uses at work and doesn't want to have to learn Windows 8. She's looking for a screen size ~17", and she's got a budget of 400-600 bucks.
I know I could just get a Win 8 machine and a separate copy of Win 7, but I've heard that some laptops can have driver issues if you load an older version of Windows onto them, and that also adds an extra $100 to the price just for the OS.
So, anyone able to give me some starting points? I wanna get her something that will last her a good 4-5 years like her last PC did. She'll need an HDD of at least 300GB as well.
