Lapping question

I lapped my CPU and heatsink recently and the CPU I lapped was brand new so i never bother testing to see how stock temps were without lapping.

So I lap them and before I put it all back together I did the reflection test to see if the reflections were distorted or not and it was perfect. Then I did the light test where I took a razor blade and spanned it across the cpu and heatsink to see if some light leaked thru.

Heres my question...I didnt get a perfect light test meaning absolutely no light shown thru but I did my very best. Do you guys who lap get perfect light tests?

My temps arent great in fact they are worse than expected. 37-38C idle, 52C load and thats an X2 4400+ Toldeo s939 OC'd @ 2.6ghz and 1.57V being cooled with a thermalright XP-90C and a 58cfm sunon 92mm fan at full blast. Sounds too hot doesnt it?

Will my temps get better as the thermal paste breaks in? I did reapply thermal paste to see if that helps.

thanks

With that cooler and that much voltage, those temps are pretty good.
Switch it back to stock speeds/volts and compare your temps with other peoples.

I just looked up that heatsink. Perhaps you should upgrade your cooler. Maybe the Ultra-90 or Ultra120-eX.

actually the idle temps are now 35C which is pretty good consider the voltage and percent overclock.
