Simply put, I'm tired of going to a website and it be all ????? it's rather annoying. So I am here today to ask, does anyone know where to download the Windows XP language packs. Every time I've tried it says insert disc. However, since I bought the PC from a retailer they only give you that crappy recovery disc. Could I get the language packs from there? I would prefer however a website that I can just dl them in one swoop with out having to hun tfor that disc. Thanks in advance!!

Who made the computer? You could call and get a disc from them. They might also have a directory on your install (like C:\windows\i386) which basically has a copy of all the files on a Windows XP disc.

I bought it from ibuypower.com. I could always try to give them a call. As well last night I downloaded a OEM version of XP so I could keep as a backup disc in case i need it down the road. (Haven't burnt it yet) could I pull the language packs out of this?

Shouldn't be anything wrong with having a back up of something I do own. :) However, I think I have WinXP SP2 (Build 2600) I'm trying to find this again to confirm. Wonder how I could out from the disc. I am able to open the .iso and see the i386\language but can't open these files. Is there something in particular i need to do?

P.S. I just checked thru my logmein ITreach account and yea, it's build 2600.

No, it's not okay to download "backups" of MS products, and it's not okay to discuss piracy here.
