hello all,

I'm looking at getting a ThermalTake VF6000BNS Lanbox Lite
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133045

but I don't like the front drive doors that cover up the cd drives. I would rather have the drives sticking out front like any other normal computer. is it possible to remove those and install CD drives like normal?

also, I was thinking about a Lian Li PC-V300B uATX box,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112113

but it's too square, I wanted a shoebox type. I need to have 4 slots, 2 cd drives, a floppy and at least 2 hdd's, but in a SMALL case. an Asus Terminator 1 would be fine, but it's a TriOptix form factor so I can't put a uATX mobo in.

any suggestions?

Yes.

The front of the case is held in place by some plastic tabs that you can release from inside the case. Once the case front is off, you can get to the two screws that hold each CD bay cover in place, and remove them if you like. And the 5.25" bays themselves have holes for screws to hold in 5.25" devices at a fully forward position, i.e. flush with the front of the case when the CD drive covers are removed.

(I found all this out only after buying it, because oddly enough no reviews made any mention of it.)
