Got a following setup:

P4 2.6C @ 3.25GHz (250MHz bus)
IS-7
2x256 Corsair PC3200 CL2
ATI 9800Pro (stock settings)
+ all the regular stuffs...

I got a fresh install of WinXP Pro, newest ATI drivers, DirectX 9, newest Intel INF drivers... No allpications running in the background (except the Windows once). In ATI driver setup all settings are set for the best performance. I got 3DMark2001 build 330 installed and no matter what I do, I can't get past 16k score. This is pathetic. what could be wrong guys. HELP...!!!! Please.

I didn't see where you can turn AA and AF off... It just says Application Preference... Any tips on that?
Thanks.

I bet $10 that you went through all of that and your AGP still isn't working right.

Start -> Run -> dxdiag (press enter)

Under display, check that AGP acceleration is enabled. IF it isn't, you didn't get the Intel INF right or your apeture settings in the BIOS is too small or something...

just click the little box that says application preference and then its off ;)

WOW!!!
You we're rigt... My AGP Texture Accell is OFF... Hmm!!! I beileve my Aperture in BIOS is set to 128Meg. I'll try 256.. BRB..
Thnx.

OK... Increasing the AGP Aperture size to 256Meg didn't Enable AGP Texture Accell. I'll try Intel INF files again. Is there anything else I should be looking at?
Thnx.

Errrr....what are you talking about?

You've only got a 3.25ghz CPU (only - heh)....3dMark2001 is very CPU bound. Just doing a quick query at Madonion.com for all CPUs up to 3.25ghz with a 9800 Pro shows a top score of just 24389 - and you may rest assured that is on a HEAVILY overclocked 9800 Pro.

It's probably fairer to compare 9800 non-Pro scores, since when overclocked (as almost all 3dMark scores are) you get more like 9800 Pro-stock scores.

Doing that pulls scores around 20K.

16K really isn't bad on 3dMark2001 - it just doesn't scale so well with the newer systems.

What are your 3dMark03 scores?

Ahh, yeah, sure....
I was looking up scores of P4's at or around my speed with non-O/Ced 9800 Pro and most of them were at 18~19K... Guess, what, thats where I'm at now after reinstalling Intel INF's and then ATI drivers... So yea, that's how I got it to work and now I can truly enjoy my card.
BTW, what's a newer system...? Mine is quite new...
