hey all, i recently hooked up my ps2 to my computer w/ my ASUS video card and its vivo cable. i tried out powerdirector pro but i could not get the screen to span the full screen so i decided to switch over to dscaler
well, i realized that when i tried playing gran turismo 3 that whenever i tried to steer to a direction, the car would not move until about 1 second after i pressed the button. now as u may expect, it reallllllllllllly hurts gameplay :p and its just plain annoying..anyone know of a fix? i tried the ps2 out on my tv and it was fine, still dont know the problem...if its dscaler, anyone know any other program to use? thx

some TV tuners dont have noticeable lag with video games, there was a thread somewhere on here about it. The speculation was that hardware encoding causes lag.

TV Tuners with "PVR" technology ( that lets you rewind live TV ) will have a few seconds lag and make any gaming extremely frustrating. Your best bet if you want to game on a PC monitor is to pick up an OLD tv tuner without any PVR technology imbedded. Although, be forewarned that console gaming will look like $H!T on a PC monitor because of resolution issues.

Either that or you can get a monitor with video/component inputs ( dell 2405 ).

well the thing is, i dont have a separate tv tuner
i have an asus 7800gtx and it comes with a vivo cable which hooks up to the composite video jack on the back of the card...then i hook up the ps2 video to "tv in" jack of the vivo cable and i can see it, thing is, its lagggggy :p

It's going to lag when you connect it to a vid card. If you really want to play on your PC then buy a good tv tuner card.

NO! lol, dont by a good TV Tuner card. You will still experience lag with most of those. The suggestion in the other thread was to get the crappiest 30$ tv tuner you could find.

The ATI TV Wonder Pro has no lag when I use it (unless I turn it onto high-quality mode). The lower end versions of that are probably the same.
