Lag Spikes in 3dmark?

Hey guys, today I had a spare hour to run some benchmarks.. I messed around with my ram a little bit, and ran sandra benchmarks.. Then with my new FSB (215 x 11) I decided to run 3dmark01.. During the test, I got lag spikes.. The scene would run at say 300fps, then suddenly it would dip to 70 then right back up.. This can be seen in the first test where I'm hitting 300 fps then 32 then back to 250, all the while the screen looks like it's lagging (a little - like when you're gaming).. I want to know what the possible problem is.. I tried all different settings and different refresh rates, lower gpu OC, etc.. Nothing is changing.. It's enough of an impact to take my 3dmark scores 800 points below normal..

I have catalyst 4.2 (which i never benchmarked with before - 4.1 SUCKED)

I am also wondering if this could also be the reason for my insane CS lag (when I'm on a T3) hitting 250fps and 40 ping with no choke or loss..

Anyone know a possible reason for this..

I think that's a problem with the 9700 cards, I know at least three people who have that happen to them sometimes. Try the omega drivers.

Ugh.. I should just sell this card for a 9800pro or something..

Thanks, and can I get these omega drivers from ATI's website?
