has anyone else gotten very few 600 point WUs lately? I think i've had about 0 of them in the past 2 weeks :confused:

 
I've never gotten a 600 pointer. Largest work unit I've gotten in about 3 weeks was a 148 pointer. :(

From what I can tell, there aren't any 600 pointers out there. Largest I see on Stanford is a 450 pointer.
 
Who really wants 600 pointers? I ran 30 or so of 'em at 52 to 60 hours per. I'm positive I ran quite a few more of these beasts. QMD's rock on pentium rigs. I don't know how QMD's run on AMD rigs, but they absolutely rock on Pentiums. Like I said in another post, Give me all QMD's, and My modest windowbox garden will advance more quickly. Give me the little QMD's on 2 boxes, and I'm guarateed 1300ppd.

You need yes to big units and -advmethods to get those right? When I ran -advmethods, all I got was a bunch of 80-something point low ppds. Any secrets to getting bigger units with -advmethods?


 
Lots of RAM helps. I GB minimum. Listen, you guys know how to track data. I want to find one little chubby girl. probly nobody special, except to me. Most insanely intelligent human I've ever known. The only person on this planet, I'd marry, no questions asked. Her name was Mary Beth Kiefer. She married a wiggler, and went to colorado springs. I honestly considered going to Colorado, and wasting the wiggler. It's amazing the skills the MC instills by default. I'm hoping I have just one team member has met this incredible lady. Tell her my name is Dale, and I still love her. She may not look like much to you, but she's all I could ever want, or need.

Must go now. They've cracked Nuclear launch codes. I may wake to a different world, I just wish it were, with mary beth.

 
the lack of 600 pointers is bothersome. my production is way of without them.
although i have been getting p1317_1fnt_a8_9.1ps-1_uf as of late its 343 points and folds at around 309.5 ppd on my barton@2.5ghz that ends up being 12.9pph thats better than the 600 pointers so i cant complain to much.

I've been getting hammered with a ton of the 241 pointers, and it always seems to be on my amd rig which takes about 30 hours per unit. My p4 rigs have been getting alot of the 66-84 point units the last few days as well. I am really beginning to think its time to start running advmethods to get the QMD's. :(

 
magnusvir is very sad that after a diet of 600 pointers for nearly 3 months, he has a 241 pointer in his rig. He is also sad because he has not got a QMD protein yet. His last 600 pointer was put in yesterday. :(

Must be nice, the last 600 pointer I saw was almost 3 weeks ago....


 
I've been getting dual QMD's for a while now........ awesome PPD for the 450 point QMD's but they're using almost 430MB of ram to run :eek:

I haven't really noticed a drop in 600 pointers though, it'll alternate between QMD, 600, and 364 pt BP's for me...... all which give great PPD so I'm not complaining.
 
arnt the QMD's sse2 only? just wondering since i have never gotten one and all rigs have -advmethods and BP enabled. of course all my systems are amd axp so that might be why.

Stanford doesn't use SSE3, if that is what you are asking.

I have multiple SSE2 boxes (with 1GB memory and advmethods on) and haven't gotten a QMD core yet. Some of it is luck of the draw.
 
Well maybe I will fire off -advmethods on my AMD 2600 1gb boxen. I tried it for a while but all I got was crappy 6-7 point/hour 81 pointers. Points seemed better without -advmethods flag, the AMD seems to be able to fold most of the 241's at 9-10 points per hour.

 
GACK! I just noticed that I haven't seen any lately either!
I didn't see any 600pt'ers listed on the point summary page either.

They cycle sometimes. I wouldn't be surprised to see a slew of them in the next few days.

Not so sure ......I think someone already said this here or at extreme or at ocau or at the F@H forum but a bunch of the 600pointers were removed from the assignment servers becasue of problems with them.
 
You don’t need a gig of RAM to get 600 pointers. 256 will do it.

Advmethods won’t do it either but it will get you “Beta” units.

“Big units” turned on + 256 meg-0-RAM will get you 600 pointers

If you look at Stanford:

You will see there are NO 600 pointers to be given out at the moment.
