Lacie Hard Drive Question

Does anyone know what brand drive is in the enclosure, does Lacie make them or do they just buy like a WD or Maxtor, ect... ? I'm looking at getting one, and wondering what drive they use and how reliable they are.
 
I can't speak for Lacie, but I've bought enclosures with drives from many different companies and all of them buy the drives from one of the major manufacturers.

As to which one... well it depends on the week. Whoever they're getting the best deal from at the moment is who they use. You'll have to actually call them to find out what drive they are currently using.
 
I was wondering about that same thing the other day since they now have the external Terabyte drive. I was trying to find out if they used 4 250gig drives in there, or possibly 2 500gig drives which no one is selling yet.
