I have heard that the L2335 is not bright enough... Especially when u adjust for proper colors. Anyone care to comment?

bright enough compared to what?

I have yet to see a 23" LCD that can compare in brightness to a above average quality 17" LCD..

Its inherent in the technology..

Eventually they'll be as bright...but not for a while longer.

Well to be honest I saw the dell 2001fp and the samsung 213t and like the quality/brightness much better of the samsung even though it has a slower response time. I have seen/heard that the l2335 can be pretty dark comparatively. And if I am going to shell out another 500 dollars I want it to be bright enough. Part of me just says to get the samsung.

The brightness is just fine in my opinion. I found a great deal of difference in the brightness of the L2235 when using the analog VGA cable versus the DVI cable included in the box. The analog was much darker, but I did not take the time to adjust any settings on it nor the graphics card. With the DVI connection the screen is bright and very tasty when paired with games such as Far Cry or Prince of Persia, and that was before I really got into tweaking the settings.
I have dual 21" CRTs, Philips 170W4P LCD (17" widescreen), and the L2335. I am very happy with the brightness it is able to produce and do not find it to be a hindrance of any sort.

I can put the HP L2335 next to a Samsung 172X, 172T, Sony SDM-V72B, Dell 2001FP..I own them all...multiples of a few..

You'll see that the brightness of it doesnt compare to the 172X/172T but its fairly comparable to the Dell 2001FP..

We have a few Samsung 213T's and work and theres no way I'd use one of them over the HP L2335

The Case Design of the L2335 isnt great...but it has a plethora of features to make up for its lack of aesthetics.

Would u take the 213t over the 2001fp?

Depends on where your priorities lie. If gaming is a priority then no I certainly would not. If gaming is not a priority then I would definitely give it serious thought.

Yeah I am leaning towards it because I have a dell p995 CRT that is pretty good for gaming... Thanx

correct me if im wrong but I believe that a LCD such as L2335 beats the pants off CRT brightness levels. I think i remember seeing a rating of 150 so the L2335 would be significantly brighter than your standard CRT :)
