I was browsing Newegg when this caught my eye.

The price is in line with the VX2025WM, and it seems better (contrast-ratio, same advertised response time), but I haven't found any reviews.

How does it look? I'm still trying to find more information.

Yeah I saw this just recently and thought it looked good too. I only know what you know but I think you should get it. It has the specs for the price, it looks good, has higher refresh rates and it's LG so you won't worry about it.

i actually had an old thread about this, i will be def getting one just for that 1400:1 and response time, i like the styling just as much as i do the VS, cant wait till i get mine at teh end of summer

I searched with no results, sorry.

I'm leaning towards it, but every time I get enough cash together it's always out-of-stock or taken off Newegg's site. When it comes back, it's usually at a higher price too. :(

Try searching for "L203wt" instead. You should turn up quite a few results here.

I'm not sure what the "x" signifies. It's the same monitor from what I can tell.

The only difference I saw (when I went to LG's site) was the styling on the back (silver vs. black),

roger. if the hieght thing is to big of a problem then go get a 2005 or 2007 lol

i will stick with this one and i cant wait for a good word from you :D

hope it will preform aswell as it does on paper

most people already have a DVI cable, if they dont they dont know what they are missing :D

lol, just noticed that aswell, maybe that means we will see some reviews some were ;) i hope lol, i need a VS to LG side by side :).

once you get yours you need to get a review up asap ;p

Well, that may not be true. You can change to the other options cut the monitor off and then on again and it's set to what you set it to. Which I don't understand what it's used for anyway. Not saying it's not a TN panel, but the 8ms doesn't seem 'that' fast for a TN.

Just a thought.

I just bought one, but haven't set it up yet.

all i know is that these things have gone up to 500 $ so they are pretty good to have that.

Were they cheaper when they came out?
Holy crap. When I first saw this thing it was $340.

The same thing happened with the Acer AL2032WA. Me doesn't like Newegg's pricing system.

Best Buy was the first to offer them shortly after the first of the year ($499); and New Egg was the first Internet dealer to have them about a month ago ($350). I think that NewEgg mispriced them, as they now show as $499 (New Egg), and BB never waivered from their $499.

I remember when I was shopping for LCDs and these were in the mid-$300 range. It's up to $499 now? Yeow! A bit expensive for a TN panel, eh?

Yeah, maybe, but it's a very nice monitor. No backlight bleed, great color, no ghosting and little color banding. SO, since I've tried 2 Samsung 215TWs and 1 Viewsonic W2025 or whatever it is and weren't happy with their color banding, backlighting and nonuniform color, then I think I'll be keeping this one. Though, I am a bit confused why Best Buy no longer has it on there website.

My guess is that LG is coming out with a new 20"ws model with all the things we don't need (e.g. TV tuner, speakers, 101 input connections) for $700. They will eliminate their inventory of the L203wt by releasing them to the internet dealers at reduced price points; and give BB and a few other select large store dealers a few months to sell the new model without competition from the price cutting internet only dealers.

What will be interesting is to see what panel they tout with the new model-- probably, the AS-IPS.

i saw the Lg for like 270$ on newegg when it first came out then it steadly went up.

No you did not see the L203wt or wtx (one and the same-- the later being offered by internet dealers) for that price. It has always been $499, except for a brief time at New Egg for $350 (now $499). I do believe you saw another make/model.

I was looking at the manual for the L203WT and at least in the VGA mode you can adjust vertical lines (banding?) using the 'clock' feature. It has quite a lot of different controls, many more than I thought. I really like the monitor more and more even if it's a TN panel. I really don't move around while using my computer anyway.

This has the TN film panel, which is inferior to the P-MVA or I-IPS panel found in the Viewsonic VX2025 or Dell 2005/7.

But the LG L203WX uses a S-IPS panel, might be worth finding out more about that.

The 1400:1 contrast ratio they advertise is kind of a lie. The panel doesn't actually have that contrast ratio, there are some electronics monitoring the signal that dynamically change the brightness/contrast when the image on the screen changes. I personally find this very annoying.

Also, LG's warranty service is run by clowns. I recommend against them.

Well, whatever the hell it is it looks f#$&ing good. There is almost NO backlight bleeding, just a tad along the top. No weird viewing issues that's I had with the 215tw. Color is very uniform unlike the Viewsonic 2025 I tried. I even tried an NEC 19" GX2 and it had terrible backlighting. So, whether it's this or that doesn't make any difference to me as long as it looks good without the issues mentioned above. :p BfME 2 and Falcon 4: Allied Forces look spectacular. Oh, and Bestbuy now has it up on their site again even though they're sold out.

How's this display for Photoshop and photography?

I heard of people using their consoles with this display, and good?

This LCD sounds better than Samsung's 215TW (which I was considering), from the reviews on Newegg, the 215TW has some quality control issues.
