After some intense waiting since february, I finally ordered all the stuff I needed for my little ITX system. I will post pictures later when everything arrives and when I've put everything together.

Setup:

CPU: 3570k
^Cooler: Antec 620 H2O
MoBo: ASRock Z77E-ITX
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz
GFX: eVGA 670 FTW
PSU: 450 Watt SilverStone SFX SST-ST45SF
Chassis: SilverStone FT03-mini silver


UPDATE: Both the Corsair H80 and the ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU II Top were too big for the chassis so I'm going for eVGA 670 FTW and Antec 620 instead. Pictures will come during the weekend.

As you can see I'm not that good with cable management. I have a week off soon so I might try to fix that! :)

Looking forward to seeing this as I am planning pretty much the same build except in a sg05. Good luck with it and get to it so we can see pictures and numbers.

Not sure about the answer to your question, but why not pick the FSP 300W SFX instead. That's the one that comes with the SG05 300W, and it's quite good.

I honestly just don't trust FSP Group, too many horror stories I guess. I would much rather use a SeaSonic if given the choice.

I'm very curious if the ASUS 670 GTX can fit in the FT03-mini as well. It doesn't sound like it would, but perhaps it's moddable? (this is essentially my exact build as well, just with a different brand of RAM :)

I'm hoping that the GFX will fit, but I have my doubts. I will most likely go for an EVGA GTX 670 if that's the case.

I am curious to whether the GFX care fit the FT03 mini or not .I am considering making the same build.
 
UPDATE: Unfortunately the ASUS 670 GTX DirectCU II TOP was too long for the case so I ended up ordering a eVGA 670 FTW instead. Now I just gotta wait for that :)

huh? the FSP300 is quite good, is running mine since may 2010, no issues, all the horror stories are from the 450w version.
 
he's been inactive a few days, sucks cause I'm really interested in this. I actually have a Blu Ray drive I bought for a HTPC that I ended up not using and it'd be perfect for this. It was an open box drive from Newegg and even then it was still $90, I assume because slim slot load blu ray drives aren't manufactured by many so supply isn't there. It's a Sony drive (BC-5650H-01) and it's slow, 8x dvd and only 4.8x blu ray but it'll do the trick. I'm tired of looking at such an expensive part go without being used

So instead of letting that purchase collect dust I may as well spend more $ to be able to use it right? My current PC is running 2xEVGA GTX 460 SE's (lowest model of 460's) in SLI and it's getting time to upgrade. I can run BF3 on ultra however when maxing AA I drop below 60 FPS, my cards aren't what they used to be that's for sure. If I can throw a single GPU in a mini itx box that's more powerful than this combo it'd be sweet. Our community has a group that has monthly LAN's and this would be so easy to pack around for those. Plus the awe factor is great in the PC community, sure I'm looking for functionality but bragging rights are great too

Hey guys, sorry for the inactivity. Alot of stuff has been going on and I've been having some problems with getting stuff to fit, so I had to send it back and forth etc. I will update the post with pictures of the chassis in the weekend. Feel free to ask any questions if you'd like :)

The eVGA 670 FTW fits, but just barely. It's the max size possible to fit in the chassis (10") :) You have to mount it in the MoBo without having anything on the MoBo meanwhile (almost).

It's a REALLY tight fits, but it fits! :)
 
Nice build! Shame you only had 6 pictures, would be great if you had more WIP pictures but I guess you were busy :)

Love the case too, cellphone pics don't do it justice!
 
wow that's a tight fit. thanks for the pics, are you not using an optical drive? can't see one there, just using an external for the time being? I am having trouble finding an itx board that is am3+ though, it really sucks. I have an FX-8150 which that silverstone PSU can handle np along with a 670 but no board that supports it. Other option is I just sell my blu ray drive on ebay I guess. I'm kinda regretting going AMD right now :mad:

That case is smaller than my subwoofer, would be so sweet and having this sony slot load BR drive I so want to get a new motherboard to mod my PC a bit

It was my first self-build and due to the fact it was ITX aswell, I didn't really have the patience nor overview of it all, to take photographs :)

@CorNut,

I'm not using an optical drive, I ordered one with the eVGA 670 but it got out of stock so I cancelled that and just got the GFX. I do not really use optical drive either. Before this build I had a 13" laptop with no drive, so I kinda learned to live without. I might put one in later if I find the need :)

I fully understand. It's annoying when you're really busy without a PC. The last thing you'd want to think about is cable management or photos haha.
 
I've come to the conclusion that one 256GB SSD is not sufficient space for me. I'd like to record gameplay footage so I'm looking into getting a 3.5" HDD, but as it is at the moment, it seems almost impossible to get it to fit. Does anyone have any ideas? Thinking of ordering ST45SF-G to sort out the cable mess.

edit: I'm even thinking of switching case to Node 304 for more HDD compability. Does ST45SF-G fit in that without modding?
 
I read on an amazon review the ST45SF-G doesn't fit in the FT-03 Mini because the plastic connectors for the modular cables jut out too much.

It does fit barely, but only just and you need to bend all 24 wires from the ATX down very carefully. It won't solve any "cable mess". So if you want to use the 3.5" drive bay, which itself gets in the way of the air from the case-fan, then order the ST45SF non-modular model instead.
