Anyone have any experience with this config and have any perf optimization tips to share?
I recently installed Win Server 2012 as a guest vm on a Fedora 15 host (per sig) and the vm seems a little sluggish--I set the vm to use 4 cpu's and 8gb of ram, so I expected it to be a little snappier, especially since Win Server 2012 seems to be lightweight. I currently have it installed in my Samsung HD103SJ hdd, but was thinking of moving the new install to my ssd, but I still would've thought the HD103SJ install would've been just fine considering this is just a development environment.
Now, I did the initial install to a raw file system, and didn't really do any optimizations (from reading afterwards, virtio seems to be better?), but am going to take another crack to tune another install--probably more installs coming afterwards.
I'm definitely a newcomer when it comes to KVM and probably missed a number of obvious things, but that's why I'm here asking.
But, thanks in advance!
