I recently ordered some waterblocks and backplates from EK, direct from their store in Slovenia.

I got my stuff in 2 days, which was pretty amazing to start with.

Unfortunately, the nickel plated backplate I ordered was covered with someone's hand and fingerprints.:mad:

The marks seemed to be embedded into the finish, I tried all sorts od stuff but they won't go and the thing looks like shit.

I emailed EK and sent along a couple of photos.

About 10 minutes later I got an email saying a new plate is on it's way.
I didn't have to send anything back or do anything else.

The CS people were very nice and responsive. No BS.

I've heard a lot of negative about EK over the years, but my experience with them on this particular problem was painless.:D
 
Maybe they've heard the feedback from the community and are finally fixing things up.

Will be keeping my eye out for more experiences like this. Then I might start recommending them again.

I was pleasantly surprised.

The guy has sent me three follow up emails, the part was sent out 24 hours after I emailed them. No questions asked after they reviewed the pics.

My stuff is all copper.
I still won't buy a nickel plated block from EK.

The nickel I bought was a backplate, it has big-ass paw prints all over it that won't come out what-so-ever.

The big problem is EK is about the only waterblock manufacturer that consistently has stuff out and ready for each GPU release.
Heatkiller (Watercool.de) which I usually use, doesn't have a Titan X/ 980 Ti block and no news on when, so I went with EK.

My blocks look fine.

To be fair, that whole Nickle plate thing was about 2 years ago now, regardless of who's to blame, we have to move on.
EK refused to accept the blame for shoddy plating, but no one ever critisized their copper purity or milling techniques.
Not giving customers the benefit of the doubt was pretty cheezy, leaving Sidewinders and other vendors to eat the costs of replacement........
I think my recent dealings with EK show they are really stepping up their CS.

I emailed them about something last week and haven't heard a thing.
Seems Performance is the only place left.
