The darn thing just keeps connecting, disconnecting connecting, disconnecting-over and over. In other words, when I plug the network cable in the link light comes on for a second, goes off for a second...over and over. It worked fine for about 4 months, and it isn't Windows related because it does it even when the computer is off but plugged in. I cant use the computer over the network, so it's not just the lights going on and off-it's actually dropping the connection.
I'm stumped, anyone else got any ideas?
 
Have you tried multiple cables/switches? Many cable modem routers have cable testers....

Though I must admit to being a VIA hater.

Yeah, especially the non-A revisions

I would try to get the board replaced, or disable the onboard NIC and throw a PCI one in.
 
disable the on board network, just get a PCI, looks like a hardware issue, unless your experienced with fixing mobo's i would not monkey around with it, better to spend $10 on a new network card than $80 on a new mobo...or you could do the good old buy the same mother board and do the switch back the same day setup kinda thing ;)
