I have a 3200 winnie @ 2.2 with ocz rev3 gold 2X512mb 74gb raptor MSI SLi deluxe(i like the xtra space) and a 800xl@425/585.
? is my fps 18-29 suxor in certain areas at 1024x768 with high settings 2xAA/AF.
Anyone else have issues?
using 5.3 drivers with atitool .24 beta

I don't know how to fix this but the same thing happened on my radeon 9800pro and clawhammer 3200+. The only real answer i got was the game was really cpu intensive. Also heard its an ati/kotor2 somewhat incompatible problem.

when i had AA up high, it really bogged down in some areas, AF didn't really slow anything down though. My guess is the graphics engine for the game is not that great

i have AMD XP @ 2.3 ghz, but i've got a geforce 6600 tho (well, 6200 unlocked)

With my computer (sig). All details at maximum antialiansing and af 1600x1200. I actually went to some sectors that had 30fps or so.
Programming wise, this game sucks balls. It crashes allllll the tiimme.....

Firstly, KOTOR II == KOTOR I. Same engine.

Secondly...didn't notice any problems with my 9800pro & 2.4C, think it was at 1280x960 with 4xAA/2xAnsi. 5.3 cats at stock timings. Don't know the FPS but didn't have any noticible jerky motion or anything.

Beat it already & have new things to play so not likely to try it out on my A64 any time soon, but it kinda outclasses the config it worked fine on, so I'm not worried.

hmmm ok just not really compatible. pretty good story tho and the third game is coming soon. :)

I definately didn't play it for the graphics, heh.

Hadn't heard there's a third one, hopefully they won't rush the end bits like the way II came off feeling.

Honestly, I think for the graphics, the level of efficiency is very low. There are much prettier games that run smoother. Also, it did have weird bugs at different places. Most games that are ported from a console are ported poorly

I didn't had time to finish it, I was going to encounter the Darth Kreia at the end when my saved games got corrupted.
I told myself: "Anyways, I'm sure there's nothing really interesting at the end." so I uninstalled it.
Light side; what did I miss?

Edit your swkotor.ini and add the following line under the [Graphics Options] section:

Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1

Try this. Worked for me to speed things up.

No problems with KOTOR II (1600x1200x2x8) or SC:CT (1600x1200x4x16) on my PC.
Not sure what's going on with yours.

I am running CAT 5.2 and ATI-Tool 0.23 though.

Ran koto6 at 1280x1024 everything maxed 16xAF/6xAA

average was 35-50 fps which i recorded with fraps.

I had some performance issues in the original in certain parts of the game with cat 4.12, 5.1 and 5.2. Changed drivers and worked beautifully.

If it helps the best performance I got out of kotor2 was the omega 5.1s

Graphics != story, gameplay.

Story and gameplay make the game, a game with good graphics but without one or both of those isn't a good game and won't last.

Take FF7 for an example...or hell, Mario Brothers. Pong. Good gameplay, good story (except pong, which just has it all in the gameplay), and years later we're still playing them, even though the graphics are technologically way behind what we have now.

well they did put this out in a year

I think that sums up most of the game's problems.

Nothing, really. The game was awesome until about 3/4ths through and then very very rushed.
