just got mine today- no burn in- but sounds like a koss pro3aa so far. decent range- actually has a bass slam! u dont find this in headsets at all. bass slam is very very large if i press the cups in slightly- these will need some breaking in.

far more comfortable than an sb45 ot pro3aa
one note- the mic has a mono jack so wont work if u are using an extension

lol... I pressed in on my SB45 earcups and it really did increase the slam by a lot, to a nauseatingly high amount IMO :D

I just got mine today, ordered it on sunday! Great quality compared to my cheap old sony 3 year old, $10 headset. I got mine for $25.

Question though.. why is the mic so low? I use ventrilo and have an x-fi gamer sound card. I boosted the mic +20db and increased my volume on vent, and the my mic volume is still really low... I can barely hear my voice o_O. Theres a big hiss too...

what are the big foam pads inside the earcups for? what happens if i take them out?

also- Finalaura- some x-fi's have that mic problem- i've had 3 and one of them (the one i am using now) does. one of my clanmates has this problem too and uses his onboard mic input

try getting a zalman clip on mic and see if that works. I just clip it on the mic boom. it is a mono mic so that might need different settings?

Some of my teamates have that problem and some do not. All have X-Fi's so it could be that. we ARE talking about creative lol.

My zalman solution works for me though.

The x-fi is fine.. my older headset's mic works great. The koss mic is just too weak or is blocking out so much noise or something... =\.

I really don't wanna spend more money on a mic attatchment, since it already has a mic built in. I might as well have spent money for headphones only, then get that zalman mic...

But if I have to... i guess.

ok i broke my sb40 already trying to put on a different earpad. the very thin wires attaching the speaker came off. time to break out the soldering iron.
why o why cant i leave my stuff alone?

Hm, you mention they're more comfortable than the SB45s, are there any SQ differences as well?

I just took a look at the differences last night. I hadn't taken a close look at the SB40's, because I assumed they were the exact same as the SB45's but just a different color, but they're NOT! Different mic, different looking headset... I'm wondering if the SB45's do actually compare to the SB40's. I would have gotten the 40's if they had them at Newegg, but no....

Wonder if anyone has both and can compare the two? From looking at the stats it seems like the SB45's might actually be slightly better, but who knows.

I am pretty sure that the SB40s sound the best but have a kind of lame mic. I use a zalman clip on the mic boom so w/e $6 dolla upgrade.

Hmm, sorry about that. Would have told you had I known
