Hey Guys, i havnt been on the boards in forever!

I have a koolance pc2 water cooled system

Only thing i have on the water is my intel p4 2.6gig

When i first setup the machine my temps were around 80 F

well its about 5 months later and my temps are around 90 F under normal load and about 100 under heavy load...... is there anything i can do? also my memory is getting really hot,

i have one fan in the back, pulling air out...

Those temps are fine... If they were Celcius you'd be screwed.

what about with my memory? its pushing 110F.. should i put some heat sinks on it to try and cool it off?

What cpu block are you using? Is it the CPU300 or the 200? How many fans are on that system, is the 2 fan or the 3 fan model? It will make a big difference. All those factors will affect your performance. Your actually about as cool as you can really get with that system.

CPU 300 HO6 is the waterblock im using on the processor.

it has 3 fans on the top of the case.

Ok so you are defenitely running a tad bit hotter than what I would have expected. I have an exos. Same everything except its external. 3x 80mm fans and same pumps and block as well. I do however have a Socket T prescott 3.4 O'Ced to 3.8 and have the same temp as you as per the readout on the koolance. What type of thermal compound did you use? The stuff that came with it? I have tried a couple and had best luck with the AS5, Artic Silver 5. In reality the temp on teh koolance display is about 10% cooler than the actual temp since the sensor is actually off to the side a bit on the block. By the way I only need to run the system on slow fan speed. I dont know if it makes a difference but I have like 4 extra feet of hose in the loop.

ya, im using the stuff it came with... should i try a different liquid? and try the atric 5?

Well, they say that after a year, you need to change the coolant, but in your case, it's only been 5 months.

I have a Koolance system and still have case fans to push air over the MB.

Im not talking about the coolant. Im talking about the thermal grease you used to create good thermal conduction between the cpu and the waterblock.

I agree with the suggestions that ronen above has said.....AS5 should help you. Also checking the radiator also suggested, and check you coolant level in the reservoir. This system should be running cooler than what you're currently getting, and I believe at least one of these elements is involved.

How warm is your room? My 2400+ @ 2.3Ghz runs about 87* in a cool room. When the room heat is on and comfy the Koolance reads about 100-105*. In the summer time it also runs around 100*. You should be able to get about 10-15* over ambient temps. You might also try some water wetting additives (get at the auto parts store). Also buildup of algae can decrease your performance significantly. I usually put a few drops of algacide in my water about every 3 months or so.

Blow your radiator out. It's probably full of dust and crap.
I do this to mine every six months. Usually brings the temperatures down 5°F.

I have probably the exact same koolance case.. and this would most likely be the problem.. since the fans are at the top of the case.. it tends to suck every bit of dust it can thru the rad.. its a bit of a pain in the ass to take out and clean... but worth it..

well, i moved some wires around, rerouting them and what not. After i did that, my temps dropped to about 79F under light load and around 85 86 under FULL load. I plan on OCing soon once i get a new mobo.

Thats a huge difference in temp just from rerouting the wiring. Make sure if you are using the koolance temp sensor that it hasnt moved around too much.

No kidding.

I would just like to reinforce what the above person said. You should not see that kind of temp decrease just from re-routing wires.

forgot to add... that i put another 80mm exaust fan to the back of the case... would that help it lower to what it is now + wire managment?

it would.. i tried to do without any extra fans.. didnt work out so well.. the case temp was getting incredibly to warm.. heating up all the componets.. i put a 80mm fan in the back and decreaed my temps alot
