Koolance To The Max

those card covering watercoolers are pointless. all that they need is copper heatsinks.

I would reccomend going with zalman and their reserator 1 plus.

People have been using those on an unocd system (bear in mind this is NO fans, and completely silent, and contains pump and reservoir in the tower (the radiator and the reservoir are on and the same) and getting well below stock temps.
i am talking fx-55, two hard drives, a water cooled power supply, chipset and two 6800 ultras all from this one thing and it is cooling fine. of course with the chipset, the hard drives and the psu removed, there could be some seriuos ocing.....
but all completely silent.

Moreover, the price is quite cheap bearing in mind that it gives you
pump, reservoir, radiator, cpu block (big and gold), gpu cooler, ram heatsinks and i think a chipset cooler for $229.....

so perhaps a bit more pricey than the coolance, but better performance and zero fans silent.

I think that Koolance is way underrated so i thought i would give them a try and show people my custom koolance setup with results...
 
ooh and the Rad is massive i got it last week it is like 14 inches long and 4 inches wide...(no sexual pun needed or intened)... this thing will dissipate alot of heat...
 
yeah but this is a fanless/180mm fan system.
the zalman would be way better as this guy wants a v.quiet system

I never said that i perfered a quiet system... but this setup will only use 1 80 mm fan and the fan that i will use moves 34 cfm at 30 db so that in pretty quiet... but i appreciate the advice... i am pretty new to water cooling and wanted to do something no one else has tried.

As for the "massive" radiator: 4" x 14" seems smaller than a 120x2 radiator... if i'm correct.
 
The pump and radiator you have chosen is very disproportionate to the waterblocks you have chosen. I would either upgrade the pump/radiator or downgrade the waterblocks, depending upon which way you want to go on the performance curve. You wouldn't go out and pair an FX-55 with an GF4 now would you? (Not saying that the blocks are that great, just that they are not going to be what is holding your system back, the radiator and the pump will be)

I think that radiator was designed to fit into a rack mounted server chassis IIRC. Personally I think I would pass on that one. ;)
 
that rad is on clearance for a reason. it was originally used in the rack mount chassis as an earlier poster stated. it is not capable of keeping up with modern hardware. i was thinking it might make a cool liquid to liquid heat exchanger tho for some chilled H2O or somthing.
