I got an Exos-1 in a trade from a guy and have a few questions

How do you tell the difference between the CPU-200 and CPU-300 blocks?

How do you remove the HDD cooler off of a HDD once the thermal transfer material dries?

Can I mount the CPU cooler using the P4 mounting hardware on an A64 using the same bracket I have from my XP-90? It looks like it would work :).
 
No love just because I got a Koolance for free off of someone :). I was going to build my own, but this was just too good of a deal to pass up ;).

1. CPU-200 has plastic barbs and the CPU-300 has metal barbs.

2. Undo the screws and pull?

3. The best thing would be to contact Koolance for a replacement part as the mounts use different pressure locking screws.
 
That HDD cooler is stuck on there pretty good. I tried prying it off with a knife and still couldn't get it off. I guess more force is needed :(.

200 requires clamps to connect the tubing. 300 has compression fittings. You could try warming up the hard drive to soften the goop.

As said before, the 300 block has metal barbs with compression fittings, the 200 are plastic and need clamps.

I THINK that you just remove the block and peel off the thermal compound. If I remember it right, its a rubbery compount when dried.

I wouldn't try it, you should be able to buy the proper equipment from Koolances site for pretty cheap.
 
I think I just might leave the cooler on there and just use the drive without it in the loop. It's not a big deal. Looks like I have a 300 series cooler also...thanks.
 
leaving the HDD cooler on the drive without actually hooking it up could cause the drive to overheat and die. either get the cooler off somehow or use it properly.

Ok...I pryed a little harder and it came off...now I just have a lot of crap on the bottom of the drive I can't really get out :(...it works though.
