how would you know if one pump went bad on the koolance since theres 2 pumps.

The fact that they bought a Koolance may make them slightly less [H]ard but that doesn't mean they aren't still [H]ard. Give them a break. The Koolance does provide SIGNIFICANTLY better cooling than air, with much less noise, and does it with no headache and an easy setup. It has its advantages, for sure.
