Hey guys I am going to be building a new high end gaming system this summer with all the new goodies, PCI-E, Socket 775 and all that when they come out and I am seriously considering buying a PC2-650 system from koolance I was wondering if anyone who has this system can comment on it and how its been for them. Please I dont want any posts saying koolance sucks unless it from some one who has this system :) I am thinking of this cus it looks good and integrates everything nicley I dont want any external WC system like the EXOs.
So just all your experiences with koolance in general and this system would be great thanks.

Why do you want the koolance?

1. noise?
2. performance?
3. looks cool?

If you're going for 1 and/or 2, a good heatsink like the slk-900U would give you better performance at the same noise level with a good fan.

If you want 1 and 2 go for the Koolance ;)

I have had an Alpha 8045 based system and it doesn´t match the performance of my Koolance nor did the sound levels. My Koolance aren´t all quiet but my former setup was a jet engine really.

I am happy with my PC2-650. I think that is the one I got. It´s the black chieftec chassi with window kit.

yes, when you compare a shitty heatsink and a loud fan, the aircooling loses out. however when you take into consideration what giblet and I said, you lose.

Your Alpha was good back in the day but it doesn't compare to the thermalright or the zalmann.

For people that can't be bothered to build/modify their systems for good airflow, it's always possible that a koolance setup will work better than even the best aircooling.

No but I doubt the SLK 900U is so much better than the SLK700 the 8045 was up against. And the 8045 wasn´t near the Koolance temps though I had a 68 cfm delta blowing on top of it as well as a 50 cfm sunon on a fanarm + low ambients. (Live in Sweden :)) Idle temps it could compete very well with but full load Koolance is way better.

I somehow doubt a SLK-900U can make a 5-10 degree difference over say the SLK-700 but it´s possible I guess. But I still believe that you will have to stand higher noise levels for the same performance though. But it´s definiatly is cheaper.
