watercooling ram is not necessary and only adds performance killing restriction to your loop...

even the most extreme overclockers use only a fan blowing on the ram....

only reason to use it is because it looks cool, period
 
Has anyone actually tried this RAM-30-V06 thing out?

My system RAM is getting very hot running at 466mhz. I would like to cool it off, but even though this Koolance RAM cooler is pretty cheap, I don't want to waste my time cutting open my loop to install it if it sucks.
 
I haven't seen any problems with leaks, and it seems to work fine for me. It actually can open wide enough to accept 2 sticks of ram with the heat spreaders still attached, although the instructions say this method is not preferred.

One thing worth pointing out, if you have a dual channel motherboard where the sticks of ram are not right next to each other, you may need to get 2 of these to cool your ram. I have a p5w dh and didn't pay close enough attention, so I either have to run in single channel mode to cool both sticks, or not cool one of them until I get another one. :(
 
My two 1Gig sticks are right next to each other with 1/16" to 1/8" inch of space between them. Not much room. I suppose I can take off the heat spreaders..not sure, they are factory installed and there is no clip, I am thinking they are glued onto the RAM.

Are you using a Koolance system with these kalthak? Did you notice any flow restriction after adding it? Koolance systems are designed to perform good at low flow, so I am wondering of the comment of restricted flow is something worth considering.
 
I am using an exos 2 and a danger den tdx with it right now. I didn't notice a big difference in temp from running just the cpu block when I added it to the system. Maybe 1-2C.

I guess how much restriction it adds really depends on what tubing size you are running. The ram cooler is 1/4", so I guess if you are running 1/2" or greater tubing it may make a bigger difference.
 
I am running a EXOS-AL system with stock tubing which I believe is 1/4". I already have a Koolance CPU block and a Koolance GPU block.
