Once again dies on me.

1st - The Control Module.

2nd - The pump controller.

3rd- The temp probe.

4th- Now who knows.

Has anyone had any problems with the original exos?

e_e..

This is getting ridiculous..

nope, exos running strong. ive had it for... a little over a year. it was always on, only turned off every couple of days. i have not once had problems with it. i upgraded to a custom WC, but i still use it in my custom. no problems yet.

Dear god. I wish mine lasted that long. First problem came 2 months after the installation.
Blah. I think it's time for a futureproof all out upgrade. I May just put a standard air cooler in my current rig and just build a new one.

Yeah. I've asked for an RMA however they just sent replacement parts and that seemed to fix the problem since it did make sense. However, the fact that this keeps happening is pissing me off...

My Exos is still going strong after over 2 years of use. It's currently pulling duty in my HTPC, but i have no complaints! No failures!

during winter its 40F at lowest in my room, summer it gets to about 120F lol. its an old house, no insulation. if i had pics i would show the temps to prove it. i also have a koolance build in watercooling system. its in a chenming case i believe. so far the control board went bad on that. i forgot, since i gave that case to my bro when i got my exos. but other then that, pump is still going strong. i think that case is about... 3 years?

My ambient temps are between 68 and 80F

I did put my koolance outside my windows once for some uber OCs. It was probably like 30F outside.

My Koolance has only been used on my Lian-Li PC85 and has been servicing the following processors: P4 3.4 (northwood), P4 3.2 (prescott), and A64 3000 (newcastle).

I've been debating buying one of these. The local compusa has 2 of them priced $199. He's had them since 2003 on his shelf and I'm trying to get him to lower the price further. Going for a buy 2 get a massive discount kind of deal. Thoughts?

Does it have the fillport on top or on the bottom of the unit? $199 is straight up retail. Offer them $150.

I hate you all.

You never answered my question as to whether you are using a UPS (Uninteruptible Power Supply). The kinds of problems you describe sound electrical in nature and line voltage fluctuations can cause these kinds of problems.

You won't as that is the original Exos model. Since then they have come out with two newer models (Aluminum Exos and Exos II). Offer them a $100.

stupid place is run by techs and not retailers. he refused to drop from $199 even when i offered him to buy 2 and a VGA cooler. No imagination. Hell, i can buy a brand new koolance case for $250, who knew?

It will make a good paper weight or perhaps a piece of Advant Garde artwork a few years down the line. ;)
