Ok finished installing my first attempt at H20...EXOS

Install is quite simple and straight forward.
The hardest part was attaching the 300 series cpu block.
Had to fumble around alittle bit to get the clamps in place..not major.
Everything else went smooth.
Then I fired it up...Did a leak test drive first (I like it dangerous but not dumb)
Just made sure all the connections were real tight!
After about five minutes with the jumper wire in place all was Ok
So I attached the block to the die and off I went..... :D
Well I noticed that my temps weren't all that much better than my SLK-800
So I looked around and saw that air was trapped at the top of one of the intakes on the block. Good thing the housing is clear.
Shut er down, removed the block, connected the jumper to the PS and turned the block untill the air ran out.
Now for some real temps....hooked it all together and started some benches.
Not impressed at all :(
The 800slk at 25c room temp had my cpu at 40c idle and 45c after 30 min of RTBLDB at 21 fps
My V card ran at 48c idle and 66c after 30 min.
With the Exos
Cpu 42c idle V card 52c
After 30 min of RTBLDB
Cpu 44c and V card 63c

Don't get me wrong, the thing is neat ! and way more quite then the delta at speeds 1 and 2 but if you want that extra umph ya gotta kick it into mode 3 which is almost as loud as the Delta.

Guess I was once again hoping for more then there was :rolleyes:
Gonna try more fans in the box to make up for the Delta. :eek:

This a great setup for a quite box and looks cool to.
My Father in law thinks I'm nuts for mixing water and electricity...Oh well
I just realized something.... I don't mis the Delta at all
 
I have this system and I'm getting 58-62 under full load with a 3.4E running at 4.1. That is with also cooling the NB and a Quadro FX 3400 (essentially a 6800GT).

I'm quite happy with it but it's at its limits with my system. I'm planning on adding a second radiator, probably a large heater core in its own box.

Radiator AND heatercore? I dont get it, i thought they both serve the same purpose... :confused:

Anyways, if u do upgrade ur system, u'll prolly need a new pump as well - I dont think Koolance one will handle increased restriction, it's already as restricted as it gets.
 
More radiator means cooler water getting returned to the CPU which means greater temperature differential across the block which means better heat flow out of the CPU which means better overclock. :)

As to pumps, we'll see. I'm not a big subscriber to the high flow argument because it cuts both ways. Ideally you want high flow on the block and low flow in the radiator (others may disagree but I don't care. And I'm a scientist :p ). So, I'll do some testing and add a second pump/loop if necessary. I doubt it though. Heatercores are pretty low restriction.

FWIW, with my current setup I split the water flow upstream of the CPU so only half goes to the CPU and the other half goes to VC and then NB. Going this way over the standard 'all three in series' method gave me an extra 150 Mhz of stable OC, while cutting my already low flow to the CPU in half.
