koolance and peltier?

would the koolance exos watercooling system be able to handle a peltier on the cpu and maybe the gpu?

what would you recommend for a combination of blocks, pump, rad that would handle CPU with pelt (not sure what wattage), northbridge (maybe with 80 or less pelt) and GPU with pelt (again not sure what size?

i want to get into performance watercooling. I do overclock and the system will probably be the one in my sig with a new video card (R420 anyone?)

Being only a 1/4" system, I don't think the Exos could handle a pelt of any usable wattage. I would love to hear someone correct me but I don't think that's going to happen.

this was taken from Koolance's site

21.Can I use peltiers with a Koolance system? ^

Thermoelectric devices in general can bring chip surfaces down a few degrees, but the heat output they produce for this effect is substantially greater than the cooling produced-- from that perspective, we feel that peltiers are horribly inefficient. Nonetheless, using peltiers with Koolance systems is ultimately done at the user's own risk. Note that an alternative method of mounting the CPU cooler will be needed because the normal cooler bracket will not fit.

translation is " our cooling system sucks so we dont support anything that is to good for our setup"

Um its one of the worst WC kits out there and its HORRIBLY overpriced :|

how bout aquarius and corsairs one, about the same price and the exos owns it. it might not be as good as a built wc system but its one of the best prebulit wc systems

For a 1/4" system it not bad but there is no way it will cope with around 500 watts load that a full peltier setup will place on it.

Luck.......:D

yah i agree there, im just sayin it does sux and it does a damn good job cooling for what it is

yeah it's good for what it is, but it's a bad watercooling so its good bad watercooling.. for the money u spend on a exos u could make ur own setup that cools WAY more..

exos is great for what it is.... i ran a dd4, 3 diff. pumps and a heater core. yep it cooled maybe 3 degrees better than the exos. so then I was left with do i want one of those god awfully ugly full tower case to put this in or do i want to hack up my li or kingwin alum case. the extra cooling afforded by the roll your own didnt help on bit with the oc. so all it was good for was wearing the brushes in my dremal or getting a soma tab out if i went with one off those butt ulgy full tower cases. exos isnt a pelt cooler. but its a good little external unit. i run mine with a zalman block and it does great on my p4 2.0 @ 2.8 and Im going to put one on my xp2500 @ 2.5. so go bash on something you know about.....

psy

i do know about this, i also know that the maze 4 is pretty bad, and depending on the heatercore that can be bad too, im sayin for the same ore even less money u can get a better setup...for sure

Alright everyone please don't hijack the thread. The OP wants to know about pelts and the Exos, which I think has been answered. Not enough flowrate to deal with a CPU pelt for sure. It might be able to handle a smaller pelt for something like a GPU but I really can't say. I know I won't be trying to use any with my Exos.
