ive been looking at the z10 by them. i had a chance to play with it at walmart ;) and the zoom is astonishing, crystal clear on the LCD. i notice the z3 has built in video WITH sound and has an even higher optical zoom, plus stabilization, and higher MP.

im new to cameras but this looks like about the best deal ive seen. i spotted it for about 350 on a few sites. is there anything as nice but cheaper? id like good video fps at atleast 320x240. anthing over 1600x1200 is good, video has to have sound. clean zoom is nice. dot dot dot ...

edit: i now see the z2 its cheaper and has 30fps 640x480 also. although not the "fine" can someone help me find one?!?! :D
~300

If video is what you're really after, why not look into a vid cam that can capture stills?

If you search the forum, you'll find that each of those cameras (the DiMAGE Z3, Z2, and the PowerShot S1 IS) has been recommended by someone at some point. I checked out the specs of the Z3 for someone a while back and decided that it was a pretty nice camera, though I've never used one. However, I don't know much about their video capture abilities. Along the lines of what PS-RagE said, you might also consider getting a webcam that has still-capture capability. The picture quality won't be nearly as good as something like a DiMAGE Z3, but I imagine the video capture is more usable.

i currently have a 4mp camera. im just wanting an upgrade in overall camera and any picture over 2k pixels wide is plenty. video isnt my main thing but i need that capability. i also have a webcam. i think im pretty much going with canon, lot of the same features, a lot cheaper

Konica Minolta just announced the Z5, and Z20, replacements for the Z3 and Z10 respectively. You might want to wait until they become available:

Canon Powershot S1 IS is another good competitor with 640x480 video.

Panasonic FZ3 is in the same price range, and takes better pictures than the Canon or KM Z3 according to the reviews I've seen. I bought a Panasonic FZ3 a few months ago and have been very pleased with it. Only downside is 320x240 video, but that's the same as the KM Z3. Interesting that the Z2 has 640x480 video, but the Z3 does not.
