Looks good but the money will be $$$$$ with about double the floating point performance of a 4P/8P AMD.

The Teraflops research chip is quite old... made in 2007 on the 65nm process. Intel has continued their research on similar processors... give this a read.

I like the sound of:

A commercial release, codenamed Knights Corner to be built on a 22nm process is proposed for release late 2012 to 2013.

... should be interesting stuff!
