Klipsch KG4 for computer speakers?

I just picked up a set of these for a good price yesterday for the sole purpose of selling them. After browsing the Internet however I hear they are some fairly nice speakers so I am thinking of hooking them up to my PC.

Could someone tell me what I need to do to accomplish this or if I should even try it?

I currently have an Audigy sound card and some Logitech 5300's which are ok I guess.

From what I can tell I need a stereo patch cable and a stereo adapter, correct?

Anyone else own these speakers?

Might be fun to hear how they sound.

Get yourself a nice little receiver (or amp) and that's about all you need.

Hook the sound card up to the receiver eaither with analog or digital, then connect the speakers using some speaker wire.

My dad said klipsch used to make ok speakers "back in the day", so it might be worth your while to listen to them.

I have a "vintage" pair of KG4's and they're still going strong after over 10 years, but I never thought of using them as PC speakers. Talk about eat your desk space! :eek:

They're extremely efficient and wouldn't take much clean power to drive them, but I'm not sure how they'd sound up close. Those horn drivers aren't exactly set up for "near-field" listening. If you're going to just use them to fill a room with music, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good they sound (provided the drivers are unabused).

Remember, they're unpowered so you need to snag to snag a receiver/amp like towert7 said.
 
Hmmmm - Well thanks guys. I guess maybe I'll just drop the idea then and maybe sell them instead rather than having to buy a receiver/amp plus cables and stuff.

I have a stereo at home but I almost never use it so these will probably be useless to me.
