this is challenging me...I cannot decide on what good 2.1-5.1 system to get..help I've looked at these (Logitech Z-5300, Z-560,Creative Inspire GD580, Creative MegaWorks 250D-THX, and the Promedia 2.1 THX) which is the ULTIMATELY best one for gaming? Thanks again...

I have a set of Z-680s. I like them because of the inputs and decoding they have. I have an nforce 2 mobo with Soundstorm and it's nice to have DD decoding built right in to the speakers. I think the egg has them for like $250 now. The only complant I have is the hiss. Do some searching and you'll find that everyone has it. It's not by any means noticeable when something's playing, but you can hear it when they're just on with nothing playing.

Then I would suggest the Logitech Z-560 or Logitech Z-5300 if you want surround sound. If you want 2.1, get the Klipsch promedia 2.1's
and....who gets entertained...headphones were made for personal use or they wouldve just made speakers that play out loud..how would you like that on the bus ride to school I'm gaming and i wan't "real" sound not just in my head for just me to hear..if i wan't to use headphones i'd use the ones i have and only for music anyways

I love my hd590's w/ amp that a buddy built so much that I am about to sell my klipsch 5.1 w/DD 5.1 to someone for $150 bux. They sounded decent but definately didn't hold a candle to my headphones. The sound is just 10x more detailed rather then being just loud and bassy.

Lighten up.. 't'was just a joke.
I got my 680's from Amazon for $245 Shipped - I don't hear hiss, and I really enjoy the soundscape they produce. If you can scrape the extra $50 together I'd highly reccommend them. (Be aware that the speaker wire that comes with them is fairly low grade, and only long enough for a dorm room to be wired for surround)
