Not sure what is going on. I still use an A2zs SC (if matters) kkkkk.....I am dinking around with rigs trying to get Mach2 on a diff build. Pulled mobo on this rig and put a K8N Neo4 in to get things going. Did a fresh install of XP. I put A2zs back in and w/ Creative drivers and I got no sound. I then uninstalled A2 drivers and installed in reg mobo sound drivers (AC97)....still no sound. I also tried diff slots. I only get sound out of the control unit jack with headphones. WTF?

Hit the power button one more time. That "should" move you over to main speakers. You turn off the unit by pushing in and holding the power button for about 2 seconds. Hope this helps!

Yeah if you read the instructions it'll say that in there. First time it happened to me i wondered wtf was up.

Thanks for the input but that is not it. I Know when it is held in it turns off, or you can click it and it goes to HP. I get nothing no matter what I do. I cant even hear a hiss in the speakers..its like they are all dead or something.

Sounds like a dead amp to me. If the speakers are out of warranty, give Klipsch a call. They usually charge ~$70 for a replacement amp.

Yep, you amp's blown, dont feel bad, it happened to my 5.1 promedia too... and a lot of other people..

It wasn't such a great amp design, with the number of blown amps, I'm suprised there wasnt ever a factory recall or free repair. For most people, it's the BASH that goes bad, and cooks the PCB. My was out of warranty, so I opened it up. There's absolutely no way to dissipate the heat that the amp produces. I think Klipsch tried to address it so they made the Ultra 5.1 with a more reliable amp, not sure thats the main reason though. Either way, if it's out of warranty for you too, then maybe see if you can get an Ultra sub?

ouch, sorry dude; but it's still a blown amp. many people at the klipsch official forum also have this issue. many RMAed their 5.1 to and got Ultra 5.1 back, and then the amp blew again. (I think they even use the same BASH chip) :( some of them even RMAed many times and have yet to get a good set.

Oh, but if you're lucky, check to see if the fuse is blown. If it is, there's a good chance you can just replace that and have the system work. If not then well... Klipsch charge between $60-100 for a replacement. Prepare to wait a long time for it..

sorry.

This is one of the reasons I didn't really consider the Klipsch system and went with HT components instead.

wow, long time on my reply....so much shit going on in life..

Neway...yeah it is that bash amp (took it apart) the only fuse is a small 5a. Is this the one I am looking for? I see another on the main board that says something about not removing a fuse or it could cause damage or something (big fuse block deal)...looks like it is soldered to the board.

Decided to just send that amp in. $60 for parts, labor and shipping. Not a bad deal. =)
