I know there have been some reviews about Kingwin PSU's but I'm just not familiar with the brand name. Any recommendations or reservations?

Varies by model. Some Kingwin-branded PSUs (mainly those made by Superflower) are decent while others are crappy.
 
Anything from the Lazer and Lazer Gold lines is a safe bet. The 1000W and 1220W Mach 1 models are good as well.
