I have looked at some reviews, but nothing I can find mentions what your supposed to do for an "external water supply"

How does this system hold and store water? Does it have a tank that it gets the water from.. or does it just continually cycle the same water thats already in the loop?
 
I just orderd this setup yesterday 7/5. I should get it in by friday, and I'd be happy to let you know all about it then. :D
