Just wanted to give a little love to Kingston. Had a USB3 flash drive fail to "read only" on me last week. Was a fairly nice drive and just expensive enough to explore an RMA. Submitted it online Wednesday night. Thursday morning I had an email asking for more info which I sent back right away. Thursday afternoon I get another email saying my RMA has been approved and that a replacement has already shipped. No need to send the old one back. Replacement drive was in my mailbox this afternoon.

THAT is how you do it. :D

Well that's not a typical Kingston RMA. I've done plenty. They just knew the make/model has a manufacturing defect. More upstanding companies would announce and issue a recall in a similar situation, but after V300 scandal they aren't going to volunteer for more negative PR so they let the customer initiate the process and then look like heroes for sending a new drive no questions asked.

With you vast insider corporate knowledge I'd love to see a link to one of those outstanding company's recall of a $20 flash drive. Just one. Any will do. I'd like to read it while reminiscing about the great V300 NAND scandal of 2015. I remember exactly where I was that day.... Oh wait no I don't. Because nobody outside of a very small minority of people even know what the heck you're babbling about. Even on Newegg which is tech focused and who's review system seems to be mostly a mini forum for keyboard commandos to nerd rage (you know, like you) still shows hundreds of positive reviews and the entire line having 4/5 star ratings.
