Kingston KHX3000 problem

Ok....sort of an odd problem that I am at the moment attributing to my mobo. Ok I started a new build with an Athlon 2600+ mobile, the memory in the title, and an NF7-S mobo (2.0 rev). Ok the odd thing is that the computer will not post with that memory in it, but it will post with some generic memory in it. I tried out the Kingston in the rig in my sig, and it showed up there fine. Could the mobo I have just not like the memory.....or maybe I did something to the board that made it not like it? I am clueless at this point.

P.S. I bought the mobo used.....
 
Boot with the generic ram and check the memory settings... if they are not "by SPD" put them to SPD, and then you SHOULD be ok... if that fails, reset the CMOS (if you dont know how, a simple way is to pop the 3v button battery on your motherboard for a few seconds and pop it back in then turn your PC on)... The motherboard might be trying to run the KHX 3000 at timings it does not like... which is fairly unlikely, considering KHX 3000 is most likely BH-6, which likes tight timings... i've heard of the BH-* memory not liking loose timings, so that may very well be your problem! Good luck..

P.S. if you can find the rated speed of your memory it'd help a bit
 
The memory is actually BH-5...I know since I bought it from a friend that is very computer savvy. I am just concerned that it is the mobo.....but I will put everything back together and see what I can do.
