Will their 2x512mb 1gig dual channel kits run at 2-2-2-5?

depends on what speed you buy. my kingston hyperx pc3200 runs at 2-3-2-6. i think ive seen them at 2-2-2-5 though.

The pc2700 runs at 2-2-2-5
The pc3000 runs at 2-2-2-6
The pc3200 runs at 2-3-2-6

etc...

But can't you bump it up in the bios to 2-2-2-5? It has heat spreaders it will run stable won't it?

The speed doesn't matter. It depends on what chips is on the pcb for that speed. Kingston HyperX PC3500 was using BH-5 chips over the summer and so everyone could run 2-2-2-5. If you bought it now though you would get CH-5 chips because its a new revision. CH-5 chips will only run 2-3-2-5 stable. The RAS->CAS is a real problem for CH-5 chips because they can't handle it set at 2.

If you get Kingston HyperX pc3200 and the model is KHX3200 it will have BH-5 chips. If its KHX3200A it will have CH-5 chips.

BH-5 chips can run 2-2-2-5 easily and overclock the best.

Also heat spreaders are a commom myth and they dont help the performance of the DIMM. They are pretty much there for looks.

Hey Mojo.. clean out ur PMs so I can reply.

I'll just answer ur questions here:

I do most of my shopping at www.vibecomputers.com . Their prices, shipping and customer service is top notch.

For smaller things i head down to www.mysterybyte.com which is located near to the Halifax Shopping Center.

Hope that helps
