CPUZ and SiSoft Sandra both detect my Kingston HyperX PC4000 RAM (clearly labeled as such) as PC3200. Is this normal, or did I get mislabeled memory sticks?

if you're not going to be oc'ing then the RAM will underclock itself to match the FSB of your cpu (the one that determines clock speed FSB×Multiplier=Clock speed)

True...but whenever I OC to any FSB speed, the memory divider automatically goes to 3:2 and there seems to be no way to lock it at 1:1 in the BIOS. Is there another way to lock it at 1:1?

depends on the speed on the fsb..if it's not possible to go to 1:1 then the bios will automatically set it to 5:4 or 3:2

e.g. 333Mhz RAM and a 3.0 P4. The FSB of the P4 is 200MHz and 166 cannot be 200 so the bios automatically sets it to 5:4 and underclocks the RAM to 160 MHz so it'll match up.

Hmm...I get the same thing you do. I have the exact same RAM. Even if I up the FSB to 233 (PC3700 speeds) with the ratio set at 1:1, it still says PC3200 in CPU-Z. Doesn't really matter though as long as it runs faster than 3200 speeds.

my KHX PC3000 shows up as PC2700

But, it could show up at PC1 memory for all i care, the 245fsb 2-2-2-11 speaks enough for me :D

CPUZ says my PC3500 is PC3500. it is possable that kingston just hand picks the good sticks of PC3200 that will do PC4000. but i dunno about that..

My Kingston shows up as PC3200 as well but at PC4000 speeds

very odd indeed :)

Same thing here. Even if I run at 245 FSB it still shows PC3200. I'm not complaining for a $100 512 MB stick.
