It would seem that Kim Dotcom will remain a free man for a few more months as his extradition appeal was pushed back to August.

The United States government will have to wait another six months for the appeal in the Kim Dotcom extradition case to be heard. A judge in the High Court in Auckland has just denied US requests for Dotcom's appeal to be fast-tracked, instead setting a date for this coming August.

Why is he getting extradited again? Still not clear on what he actually did outside of running what amounts to a cloud service.

He didn't grease the palms of the old guard. Microsoft, Google, Apple, Facebook, they all "payed" to play the game. Kim DotCom's mistake was giving everyone the middle finger for so long, and being flashy about it. People get jealous when they see a fat man surrounded by hot women, paid or not. Megaupload was on the verge of going public, and this would have made Kim DotCom even richer. Seems like someone didn't like the idea of this flashy fatman having billions of dollars.

The end result of this farce, will ultimately see an innocent man stripped of his earnings, and the taxpayers will shoulder the burden of this billion dollar witch hunt.

I'm interested to know what kind of proof they have that this guy did anything illegal anyway. All I have seen is pure hearsay and some snippet of an e-mail that is surely inadmissible as evidence.

In this country he will have a jury of citizens deciding his fate also. We all remember "If the glove don't fit, you must acquit." :D

He should argue that they shouldn't send him to a country that legalizes torture.
