How come you can lock our threads when we are having a little inside joke time... but when the same posts keep coming back like a bad dream you let them go on their merry way... I say lock theres and make them go do some research and let us [H] members have our fun! it was the first thread ive seen in awhile where everyone was having a good time and there was no !!!!!!ism or flamming going on grrrrrrrrrr

Ive seen worse

Maybe private message a moderator and tell them your plight - if it was harmless then maybe he will see the thread in a new light

Maybe toughening the rules is what your asking about what posts can exist...not sure what posts you are talking about. Do you mean new people asking advice? I dont think they should be ignored just because they're not [H]supreme :D

Problems concerning the threads should be addressed directly to the moderator. If you think you have been dealt with in an unfair manner by a moderator, PM an Admin. Threads of this nature are always locked for being off topic and also the attempt to gather support from other members will not prevent a moderator doing his job which is mainly to make sure that threads stay on topic.

Interesting.. it's rather humorous.. but like the dude said above.. that's something for genmay..

The sections of the forum that are for hardware related matters, motherboards, video cards, etc are there to help individuals get answers to the questions about the hardware they have or may be consider purchasing. That is the main purpose of the forum, it's not so that users can post whatever they want to simply have fun. When a user creates threads such as the one listed asking "what kind of rig it takes to play minesweeper" It usually invites problems as well as detracts from the intended purpose of why the forum is there in the first place. Second, and most importantly, if a thread like that one is allowed to stay then a trend will start with other B.S. or off topic threads getting posted as well. Pretty soon you have a video card forum with a lot of B.S. threads in it, once again detracting from that forum's main purpose here. That simply will not be allowed to be the case. That forum is not General Mayhem, it's video cards. If your wish is to post threads whose only purpose is to "have fun" then you can either post it in the General Mayhem section (if you are a subscriber of course) or you can certainly visit one of the other thousands of forums on the net and try it there. That's nothing new folks, there has been no sudden change in the way these forums have been Mod'd. We wish to keep the hardware related forums directed at the serious discussions of the hardware and technology.

Relating to the comment of moving the thread to General Mayhem.
If the user is a subscribed member of General Mayhem they can start the thread there themselves, which would be an appropriate place for such a topic. If they are not a subscriber there it doesn't make much sense to move it there because then they would no longer have access to it or be able to post in it and have their fun. So no threads will be moved into General Mayhem.
