Kill FAH at a certain CPU temperature

I want to kill the Folding at Home process when my CPU reaches a certain temperature. What's the best way to do that? Windows XP, btw.
 
Speedfan (and probably other like utilities) have events you can configure to shutdown at certain thresholds. In Speedfan, I think you can actually configure the exact command, so in this case a killall type thing or a service stop command.

That said, if you are running into thermal issues while running FAH, you probably want to take a look at your system cooling setup as you really should not be having the problem in the first place. Maybe dusty fans or constricted airflow?
 
Thanks for the program suggestion. You are the second person to suggest Speedfan, so I'm gonna give it a try.

Here is my situation so people don't go off on the wrong tangent:

I use my computer from 5:00-6:00AM, and then from 6:00-9:00PM. It's overclocked to the max and runs just fine during those cool periods of the day. But during the middle of the day it churns out heat in a little room for hours on end, bringing the room temp up to around 30C and the processor just gets to the point where it gets too hot, crashes, reboots, etc. I've found that killing one of the FAH processes is enough to keep it stable, if not both of them when summer rolls in.

Cooling the room in any form is not an option. I'd rather just kill FAH processes to keep the machine running so I can still use it as a proxy from work, download torrents, etc.

i'll second this idea. its the best way to maintain a steady PPD and keep the temps lower. Experiment with loads and see what works best. usually there is a significant heat difference in going from 100% to something like 95%

 
The idea of running it only when it's cool, or cycling it, or even running it at 80% like the person above me suggested is cool, but the room temp is varying on a daily basis and I would like to be as efficient as possible. I can't do the math, but wouldn't it be more efficient to churn at 100% until I hit the limit, rather than throttle back all the time when it might not need to be?
 
The problem with the SpeedFan way is that if you kill a FAH service, it's hard to bring it back without some creative batch scripting.

Setting the cpu cycles % or throttling the overclocking a bit lower so when you peg the hottest temps, it will still run fine. That's a sacrifice you need to do (not something a [H]ard folder will do, trying to find other ways than losing a few cycles ;)).
