So I got in some KHX PC3000 today to replace my shit GeIL Value RAM PC3200.

Everything was going awesome at first, I pop her up to 230fsb x 11mult and she was purring like a kitten.

I ran benchmarks, 3dmark, memtest, i mean perfect.

Then it hit the fan, later this evening i opened up BF1942 and the game keeps crashing to desktop. not windows just the game. same thing happens in BF: Vietnam, and UT2k4.

and the game sare the ONLY things giving me problems. nothing else crashes

I tried everything, literally spent 2 hours trying different settings from 200fsb to 230fsb, multi from 10 to 13, i had my volts cranked as high as they could go and even lowered them for a few runs to see if maybe i was giving too much volts.

To shorten up some this memory will not run now at 200fsb at 3.3volts with 11 multi at 2-3-3-11. My shitty GeIL is not looking so shitty now.

any suggestions before i sell this?

to add, i am using 1/21 bios , and i tried enabling/disabling all the latest bios features too (forget what they are, CPC or something?)

If your memory is double sided , you gotta turn off "side band addressing" i think thats what it is... After doing this on my dfi board with my khx3000, i could get good overclocks, although it does reduce ram performance some.

Im running 2.8v, is 3.0v+ really safe?

amd, I had the same problems.

run your sticks at 205 2-2-2-6 or 2-2-2-11. leave command per clock enabled.

205mhz fsb cpc enabled 2-2-2-6 will beat 230fsb 2-2-2-6 disabled.

my sticks hated 2-3-3-x tiomings even at 190mhz fsb.

sick with 2-2-2-6 or 11 and keep it at 2.9-3.0v

command per clock.. thats it. I have no idea where i got side band addressing from.

It was a minor performance feature on gf3's and gf4's that would sometimes cause games to crash.

well whatever it was meant to do it allowed me to run at 220 now

still not as high as i would like but at least it's better

check your benchmarks with cpc disable and enabled, I thik you'll be surprised.

i ran 220fsb with CPC enabled and 220FSB with it disabled

memory was about 30MB/s difference

arithmatic and multimedia CPU scores were about 60 difference

hardly enough to even care about

does your sticks of hyperx have ch5 chips? i have 2x512 of hyperx3500, and i cannot give em more than 2.8 volts. my stuff hates 2.9 volts. soon as i put it to 2.9, prime crashes. any other settings are fine, 2.6-2.8. im using a differnet board than you guys but, just thought i would leave some input. im having a hard time getting mine to 220 and higher. looks like i might have to sit at 215 or so.

Not sure what chips my RAM has

It has the mysterious DH-45 markings on it which no one actually knows for sure whether its BH-5 or CH-5

i've been running it at 225fsb x 11multi for a few days now and my games havent crased yet

Time to go higher !!

amd I'd suggest throttling down and using CPC enabled and benchmark you'll be surprised that 205fsb cpc on > 230fsb cpc off
