Well, everyone it's been a long and amazing run for my logitech Elite Keyboard, and I've finally decided to switch with something to a back lite. Now am trying to spend less than 70dollars on a keyboard, I dont see the sense in spending any more. I was looking at either the Logitech G11 or the Saitec Eclipse II. TO be honest I am leaning towards the logitec, just because the little circle for volume and the multimedia keys, have really been my favorite thing about my elite, and I'll appreciate them on the G11. But do you guys have any other suggestions or comments?

I have two Saitek Eclipse II keyboards. I love them. Vastly improved over the original model. Great back lighting, Crisp firm keys but not too stiff. Choice of backlight colors. Considering everyone has their own opinion and preference the only real way to determine which *you* would prefer would be to test both. Short of that I'd say Eclipse II but I guess I'm a little bias considering I own two. :D

We recently had a two-page thread regarding a backlit keyboard, and the general consensus seemed to be the Saitek Eclipse II. The thread is currently on page 3 in this forum, but here's a shortcut: Good backlit keyboard?

I would go with the Logitech. I used to have the Elite as well and I'm typing as we speak on a G11. I've tried the Saitek on some other people's pc's and I just didn't like it. The keys don't feel as crisp as the Logitech and like you said, the media controls on the G11 are great. I haven't been using the extra G keys much but I am starting too again. I'm re-tagging my mp3 collection and having copy, paste, cut, and other shortcuts like that on a 1 button shortcut is a godsend. Stay with Logitech and you won't regret it.

The Saitek simply can't compare to the feel of Logitech keyboards. If you're used to the feel of the Elite keyboard, the G11 will feel very similar to you.

Personally, I like the Eclipse II. You could go to a store and type to yourself on them. I know it seems lame, but you can at least get an idea of the feel of the keyboards.

go with the eclipse its amazing im using it right now to type this, choice of colours choice of the brightness keys are not to stiff and not to easy to push its just what i would think as the perfect keyboard.

Got a brand new Razer Tarantula from another here on the [H] and thus far I love it. I know it's not one of your considerations, but just throwing it out there.

Also, there's a Logitech LX710 wireless downstairs I like the feel of pretty well. No backlights or anything really fancy on it though.

keep your eye out and you should be able to find the old model g15 for under $70 (blue back lit with LCD)
