When too many keys are pushed on the keyboard, it locks up, and the computer makes a beeping noise.
Is there a way I can prevent this? It's extremely frustrating when playing computer games.

Locate the nearest window and... :p

Please give us some computer specs. ALWAYS mention your specs when asking for help.

2.2ghz 2700+ barton xp processor
512 ddr ram
80 gig hardrive
good mobo
etc, etc.
i have a logitech elite keyboard.

Are you using it in the PS/2 port? If so try switching to the USB port. If it's already in the USB, I don't know then lol.

Wait, since when do keyboards have speakers in them?

Every keyboard has a limit to how many keys it can read at once. Some keyboards are able to read more when attached to USB rather than PS/2. Most of the time most keyboards don't read more than 3 keys at once regardless of connection.

The beep you hear is your computer telling you that you are pressing too many keys at once.
