Keyboard and mouse problems?

Alright, I just got a new keyboard/mouse combo with my computer and it's on the cheap side. Occasionally when I'm playing Unreal Tournament something will lock(running forward, the fire button, several things at once)up. Could this be a problem with my mouse and keyboard? If not, what?
 
Sounds like it might be the ps2 ports on the motherboard. If you can borrow someones usb mouse/keyboard and try that.

It's too suspicious for both to be fried right out of the box.
 
The keyboard seems to be fine....the mouse seems now to be the one spazzing out.
